Raman Effect : Raman scatteringà or theà Raman effectà (à /? r m? n/) is theà inelastic scatteringà of aà photon. It was discovered byà Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Ramanà andà Kariamanickam Srinivasa Krishnanà in liquids,[1]à and byà Grigory Landsbergà andà Leonid Mandelstamà in crystals.
